V-ACCESS Achievements | Advancing Technology Readiness

Within the V-ACCESS project, a key milestone marks significant progress in the development of hybrid energy storage technologies toward real-world deployment.

The supercapacitor-based Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) has reached TRL 5, confirming validation in a relevant marine environment.

The SMES system is currently at TRL 4, with a clear roadmap to achieve TRL 5 by the end of the project through extended laboratory testing under Amendment AMD-01 (by Month 40).

👉 This progress represents an important step toward the commercial deployment of hybrid energy storage systems in maritime applications.
