V-ACCESS Achievements | HAZID Completed

Within the V-ACCESS project, a key milestone marks the completion of a comprehensive Hazard Identification (HAZID) analysis for the integration of supercapacitors and SMES in marine DC power systems.

All major hazards have been identified, classified, and assigned mitigation measures in line with leading marine safety standards, including RINA, DNV, and ABS.

The analysis was carried out with the active involvement of classification society partners, and the results have been shared with maritime regulatory bodies.

👉 This work represents a crucial step toward the safe adoption and certification of hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) in commercial vessels, directly supporting the development of future class rules.
