V-ACCESS Achievements | HESS Training Handbook

Within the V-ACCESS project, a key milestone marks the development of a comprehensive training handbook on hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) for maritime applications.

Equivalent to a 2-day course, the handbook is designed to support different audiences — from students to naval engineers and vessel crew — with content structured across multiple levels of technical depth.

The material includes:

• theoretical principles of supercapacitors and SMES technologies
• hands-on simulation exercises
• structured coursework and learning materials

👉 This initiative aims to build capacity within the maritime sector, supporting the adoption of hybrid energy storage systems.

The handbook will be disseminated through the project website and partner networks.
